Dawn
Thus the Magic Knights of Reyearth were to leave their Cephiro in 3 weeks, only Clef, Lantis and Ferio knew about their departure and no one else. During the day,the Magic Knights would be rebuilding Cephiro with happy faces. As the sun sets, they join their confidant and confront the sorrow that they've hidden while the sun was shining. Every moment of the night was spent as if it were there last.
That's what at least Lantis and Ferio had done for their maidens. They showed beautiful waterfalls, majestic cliffs, and amazing sceneries. Everything in Cephiro was wonderful and incredible for the Magic Knights. Everytime though, as they saw the magnificent wonders, a forlorn thought would oocupy their hearts-- that they were doing this because they were leaving. That they're exploring in the dark hours of the day because they cannot be sad after dawn. They can not bare to see others sad when they depart. They did not want anyone to prepare for their departure-- only Clef, Lantis and Ferio. As the sun rose magically, the night adventure ended with warm embraces and memorable kisses. With their eyes closed and wishing they didn't have to let go of each other.
The dream irritated Umi. She was the only one who tried to sleep during those 3 weeks. Unfortunately, in vain, and cursely, everynight she was reminded of the little time left. She hated reminders. So she always woke up and walked down the hallways of enchanting paintings. That's where Clef would appear to tell her his stories. He knew that she would wake up and venture the mystical corridors. He wanted so much to show her Cephiro-- the way Lantis and Ferio did for Hikaru and Fuu. But that was the problem. Clef had never told Umi that he had loved her. And he felt 'that if I tell her now... now it's too late.' Time was running fast and IF he did confess and IF she loved him too, they would have broken hearts afterwards, only that and nothing more. Only empty wishes to be together again. So all Clef did was tell Umi stories about the paintings, the hallways, the village and the whole of Cephiro. They would also watch the dawn from the palace's balcony against the sea. That was only... that was everything Clef did.
